After the roundabout at Landon Avenue and San Marco Boulevard was completed, along with the stretch of road connecting that intersection the foot of San Marco Square, we’re looking forward to the greenest phase of the project yet. San Marco square is being scooped up in large portions to make room for the extension of Balis Park into the square, and two one-way streets that will ease traffic into, and through, San Marco.

The San Marco Preservation Society (SMPS) has a rendering of the future park on their website, along with the refreshed look of the Square itself. SMPS is allowing private citizens to leave their personal stamp on the new Balis Park. At $100 each, folks can buy an engraved brick with their name, or the name of a loved one, that will be placed into the walkways of the park. Plans are for the Balis park extension to be completed in May of this year.
